Shayne here. My mom was moved from one hospital to another on Friday. The hospital she's in now specializes in getting patients moving in the direction they need to go to go home. My mom will have many steps to go through before going from this new hospital to a physical therapy nursing home, if that makes any sense. I saw her yesterday and it was difficult seeing her in the condition she's in. I hope she has the strength to make a full recovery and I'm hoping she'll be home in time for her birthday in April. Again, thank you all.

Jolie-She has a strong personality and isn't afraid of expressing her opinions, yet she has a very 'clear' nature. The mother and baby bird jumped at me....how maternal she is and yet how she yearns for connection with her own mother. Thank you, Shayne... and have faith. She's overcome so much... she won't give up now. I know it's hard to see her weakened. Just remember the fight and spirit she was born with and she's got all of you to come back to. Oh, how she loves you all.

My mother got your cards and they made her smile. Thank you!
She is more alert now. Kevin got her a Kindle for Valentine's day. My sister was going to help her pick a couple audiobooks out for it this evening b/c she loves listening to them. It is possible she will move from this hospital to the physical therapy nursing home in a week.
She still has the trachea in and can't speak. She can't have the speaking device on it b/c of some growths which make it difficult for her to breath when it is in, so she writes us notes on a whiteboard during our visits instead.
