Dear Blog,
We’ve had such an unusual summer. It’s soon over and school will be starting up again and it’s as if the summer we usually have hasn’t arrived yet. Everything was backwards. It became very hot, very early and tons of rain and many, many very nice days. Some days it was even cool. Also Kevin didn’t work most of the summer and that’s generally the time where his kind of work is constant with lots of over-time hours.
He finally went back to work on Monday last and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the job will last for a while. He’s only had about 11 weeks of work this year and we are eight and a half months into the year. I wonder if it'll even pay to file taxes this year?
I am here as witness that the economy is still affecting people in a big way. It's still affecting many of us in a bad way and still...all that the suits do...is continue with their pissing matches in Washington D.C. Seems they have forgotten that what goes around comes around. The riots in England should be giving American rulers some pause.
He (my old boy) is working about 3 hours north of here so he will only be home on the weekends. He’s staying in our tent…you know…the tent that I bought for when we end up living in a tent city with all of the other people without jobs or a home. It’s a 3-room tent and he likes it. He even slept through a huge rainstorm. He has a Coleman lantern for light and a Coleman stove for cooking and the campground has showers.
As for me I am getting used to being here alone again. I rather like the peace and quiet but it is different. I’m just glad he’s found work. Seems being born to end up being in this baby boom age isn't such a good thing...after all. Finding out at retirement age that Social Security is just a giant Ponzi scam the government used on us to get SS money out of us all of these years is very disheartening.
Did you know that at the time that the (then) leaders in government came up with the idea of social security they knew that the statistics said that the average life expectancy was 64-years of age? ...So they set up a plan that would give us retirement funds and medicare at the age of 65 believing that most of us would never live to see 65 so they would never have to give our money back. And people wonder why we don't trust government.
Well…I’m off to bed. I’ll try to write more news later in the week.
Robin and you too Daisy…I promise to write soon. Oh course I am waiting to hear from both of you too.
Bye Blog, JjB…
